Blog Hiatus

OK. I've been up since dawn editing inappropriate comments from The Park Record blog. Now I am VERY grumpy. And disappointed. I had hoped this blog would offer readers the opportunity to exchange ideas in a little less rigid format. But, due to the incredible importance of the upcoming election, and the potential for libelous comments to be posted before I can delete them, I am suspending all comments on this blog until after the election. It is a shame, there is so much we could have shared with each other. ....Nan Chalat Noaker

I would like to apologize for my allegations on the blog from last night. The opinions expressed were not those of the Park Record or any employee of the paper.

Too bad that civility has disappeared from local politics. It gets personal way too quickly these days. It's okay to disagree, but don't be disagreeable.

And perhaps people can actually have some discussions, with their real names, for a change. If you can't stand behind your opinions maybe they're not worth much.

Pat Cone,
Thank you. As you can see my name is there now, and my name was there last night I was not "anonymous" . I just forgot to put my name in the apology under user name. Elections have become more about the candidate and less and less about the issues. For this we are all guilty. The challenge arises when it becomes personal. I hope the people of the county realize it is more about them and less and less about us.

its a shame that if you express views not in line with the editor they are deleted, and then the entire blog is deleted. Evidently, The Park Record endorses censorship..interesting coming from supposed champions of the First Amendment...

I have asked the same kind of question, however the answer made some sense to me. The Park Record has their name on the Blog, and therefore there is some inherent exposure for potential lawsuits. I think the blog wouldn't be so controversial if people would use their own names. Then the ability to be upfront can be questioned ouside of the forum. For once this blog is helpful and informative. I made comments to counter the allegations against myself and my brother and anger not common sense led the dialogue. Although I stand by what I wrote, this forum wasn't the place to expose or discuss the very sensistive issues.

I am going to post my Letter to be published and I think it will offer some explanation.

Letter to the Editor,

In response to the article about Brody Taylor, published on October 11th.

Brody has had 2 written negative actions in his personal file, in nearly 10 years of service at the Sheriffs Office. Both of the actions were during his time in Corrections, working in the jail. In the last 2 years, the Sheriffs Office paid to have him Patrol Certified and allowed him to work for 1 ½ years on the road. There was never a complaint filed, nor was any action taken regarding the alleged incident at the fast food place , as stated. We believe the information was published without full disclosure of the situation. Brody has numerous accommodation letters regarding his professional conduct and high felony arrests. Those accommodations are available upon request, as well as access to his public personal file, regarding the disciplinary actions against him. Please email Info@taylor4sheriff.com, and the information will be provided. Other information was provided to the staff at the Park Record in the interviews regarding other concerns and issues leading to Brody being forced to resign. At the time of his resignation, his wife was within 7 days of having a C-Section delivery of their second child and the added stress was causing health concerns for her and the unborn baby. We know there are very qualified individuals working for the Sheriff’s Office right now, and hope to only better the situation with the election. Regardless of the outcome of the election we hope to see changes in the administration and in the treatment of the majority of the employees. Brody is hoping to bring a local touch and local leadership back to the Sheriff’s Office, and his campaign in not based on alleged misconduct at the Sheriff’s Office, however it is based on a local man trying to bring back integrity and leadership to the Office.

Thank you .

Beware of "mother superiors" that have hyphenated last names. They believe only in the First Ammnendment when it suits their narrow minded thinking. This paper in PC is run by liberal hypocrites!

If this blog was driving down George Bush and typically blaming him for every ill in society, it would still be open. I agree with the previous blogger. The Park Record, it's staff and it's editor are shameless hypocrites. No professional journalists reside there.

Record staffers only know how to express liberal views. Is that all you got? Throw me in the briar patch!
