Should Hoytsville go big-time?

A controversial petition swirling around Hoytsville seeks to incorporate the community between Wanship and Coalville into a town. “Legacy landowners” whose ancestors have lived in Hoytsville for generations say zoning codes in eastern Summit County are too restrictive. But those against incorporating fear taxes and urban sprawl could increase if the new town forms. How would you vote?

Way to go go Nan. You and the other Marxists at the Park Record have done it. You have suppressed free speech. Have you noticed how may comments have been posted since your instituted your "Kremlin" rules regarding anonymous blogs? A total of about four in the last 3 months. You and Terry Orr are the biggest hypocrites in Summit County. You believe in the concept of free speech, that is until someone disagrees of course. The "mother superior" title that other bloggers have given you surley fits. I am sure that you and Terry feel so superior sitting from your perches at the Park Record and blabbing out your liberal views and not having to be accountable. Liberalism is a mental disease and you and Terry are the "Nurse Ratchets" of the institution!

Hey Kelly: Welcome back!
Yes we saw a quick decline in comments when we began to ask people to register. Frankly, I think that says more about the people who were leaving nasty comments that had nothing to do with the topics than our management of the site.
I need to point out to you that Teri Orr (note correct spelling) left The Park Record nearly 20 years ago. She doesn't deserve to be blamed for our content. I take full responsibility for the blog, and the editorial content of the paper so you can direct your concerns to me.
That said, please note that we have added a new commenting tool on every article. You can vent your rage and mean spiritedness all you want. As Mother Superior, though, I will continue to reserve the right to delete racist comments, false accusations or messages that I believe will hurt the people we have written stories about. You can continue to take pot shots at me. But I wish you would take the time to add some constructive ideas to the conversation.
Kelly, try not to waste so much time hating The Park Record, I am sure you have better things to do with your time.

Nan you are so obvious and pathetic. Eveytime a liberal such as yourself gets challenged, they use words like racism and hate. You might want to expand your vocabulary. Kelly is right on with her (his) blog. You really have had a lot of activity since you changed the rules. A total of 5-6 blogs in the last several months? Your and your asocciates at the Park Record continue to be blatantly unobjective. Every time without fail, if someone has any stance on illegal immigration you and your paper brand them as racists. On a number of occasions I have read Ms. Orr's columns and she does want to stifle free speech when she is in disagreement with someone. Case in point, one of her columns a few months back mentioned how mean spirted Rush Limbaugh is and how "someone should silence him." If that is not waging a war against "free speech' I am not sure what is. As editor, you are supposed to be repsonsible for what goes to print in your paper. Why not try doing your job and being somewhat objective for once. It might surprise some folks in town and you might sell a few more fish wrappers!

Kelly and Bob are perfect examples of why so many places have had to prohibit anonymous posts. These two nimrods speak such nonsense that I think it's rich Bob called Nan pathetic.

Check the man in the mirror, jackass. The Hoystville blog could be so interesting because of how important the decision is in North Summit. The problem is idiots like Kelly and Bob who do not even know what incorporation means. They just know ways to whine -- bunch of crybabies.

Yo, mental giants, do us all a favor and shut the hell up!

I wonder who the trolls were last year who caused The Park Record to ban anonymous posts? I, for one, am glad.

Morons like Kelly and Bob obviously lack ability to form original and critical thoughts. I'll never understand their stinking, rotten ilk!

Nan, please keep posting interesting topics and hope one day our gene pool is cleansed of these parasitic bastards -- punks!

peace

Wow --- glad to see Kelly and Bob are so mean sprited that they take any opportunity to blame Nan for their conservative troubles.

I wonder if they have any thoughts on Hoytsville or any other subject dealing with our community? Other than their hateful diatribes on this blog and how Nan's opinion will change their world, I see nothing close to a constructive opinion.

As far as Hoytsville, I hope the residents think hard about the consequences of zoning changes. Claiming you don't want to save open space for the Park City snobs is short sighted.
